Fern Elizabeth (Smith) Paluga, 69, of Galion, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 while in the care of Heartland of Bucyrus.
She was born October 9, 1951 in Marion, the daughter of the late William Grover and Ruby Ellen (Boone) Smith. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with family. She loved to sing and dance. She always found a way to make you smile and laugh.
Fern is survived by three sons, Mel Knetter, Mike Knetter, and Jeffrey Paluga, Jr.; two step-daughters, Laura Garrett and Julia (Phillip) Riggs; several grandchildren; siblings, Lois Cook, William Smith Jr., Mary Morgan, Robert Smith, Ranny Smith, Jack Smith, Clara Davis, Steve Smith, Cindy Stacy, Ethel Miller, Harold Smith, and Laura Gibson; brother-in-law, Phillip Paluga; sister-in-law, Phyllis (King) Culp; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Along with her parents and grandparents, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Paluga, Sr. in 2020; and one daughter, Vickie Harter.
