Floyd Miller, Sr. Obituary

Floyd “Orville” Miller Sr., 86, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Orville was born on August 27, 1934, in Quincy, IL, to Frederick William Gottlieb Miller and Amanda Elizabeth (Thomas) Miller. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Orville was a member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, and enjoyed carving, hunting, fishing, and archery. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Orville was married to his sweetheart, Moina (Hirst) Miller for 63 years, and she survives.

Along with Moina, he is survived by his children, Floyd (Chris) Miller Jr. of Pendleton, KY, Teresa Howe of Sweeny, TX, Sharon (John) Neyer of Newington, CT, and Rhonda (John) Hoover of Mansfield, OH; grandchildren, Tera (John) Keener of TX, Nolan (Phoebe) Neyer of OH, Kinzie (David) Penachio and Mariah (Larry) Schmidt both of CT, Morgan (Thomas) Darrah of OH, and Kaylea, Trenton, and Zane Hoover, all of OH; great-grandchildren, Marcail and Dakoda Keener, Perry Neyer, Augie and Brady Schmidt; dear sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hirst; sisters-in-law, June Hirst and Emily Hirst; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Amanda Miller; nine siblings, several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Private services will be observed by the family. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve, Rittman, OH.

Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
