Franklin Delano Jones

Franklin Delano Jones, 81, of Mansfield, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 5, 2021.

Franklin was born on January 19, 1940, in Carter County, Kentucky, to Cleve and Virgie (Lambert) Jones.  He enjoyed long car rides in the country, fishing, and bluegrass music. He attended Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He retired from Empire Detroit Steel after 38 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jones, of 61 years; daughter, Wendi Jones; sisters, Connie Conn and Linda Wallace; grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Laird, Shawna (Brian) Dion, and Macy Gibbons; and six great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; daughter, Sue Jones; and son-in-law, Paul Young. 

Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Springmill Cemetery with Brother Earl Tackett officiating.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
