Geraldine “Geri” Gibson Obituary

Geraldine Madge “Geri” Harmon Gibson, 73 of Morehead, Kentucky formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, after a long illness of congestive heart and kidney failure at U.K. St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born on July 30, 1952, at Jane Cook Hospital in Frenchburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joe Harmon and Alma Irene Smallwood Isbell Harmon. Geri graduated college with an Associate of Arts Degree, graduated Cosmetology School, was a beautician with her own shop in Frenchburg in the early 80s and was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior when she was 12 years old. She enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores and collecting things, as well as doing various arts and crafts, and flower gardening.

Geri grew up in a loving Christian family on Joe Harmon Lane with her nine brothers and sisters in Frenchburg. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Thomas Oren Isbell and Sonny Roger Darrell Isbell and one sister, infant Barbara Joan Harmon.

Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Ronald Gibson, whom she married on May 4, 1996, children, Roger Linville Johnson of Morehead, Angela Sue Johnson of Middletown, Ohio, Randy Gibson (Carol) of Galion, Ohio, Dale Gibson of Ocala, Florida and Kristine Durfee of Mansfield, Ohio; four sisters, Sonya Carolyn Christine Combs of West Union, Ohio, Linda Dolores Harvey, Brenda Kay Patrick (Timothy) and Rita Sue Adkins (David) all of Frenchburg; three brothers, Timothy Tony Harmon (Teresa) and Bobby Dempsey Harmon all of Frenchburg and Phillip Adrian Harmon (Sylvia) of West Liberty, Kentucky; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead, Kentucky is from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Visitation will be held at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services (1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio 44905) from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2026. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park in Ontario.
