Glenn D. “Dave” Whitmore, 71, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Dave was born on January 24, 1950, in Cleveland, to Elmer G. and Opal J. (Perry) Whitmore. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Dave retired after 24 years from Ohio Edison, as a meter repairman. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing and playing poker with them. He also enjoyed watching old westerns.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Catherine) Whitmore, Jason (Renee) Whitmore, Mike (Tammy) Berry, and Jeff (Vivian) Berry; daughter-in-law, Taryn Berry; grandchildren, Rachel Whitmore, Tiffany (Mark) Baughman, Sierra Whitmore, Miranda (Cole) Belcher, Brittany (Austin) Smith, Garret Whitmore, Braxtyn Smith, Christian Berry, Keelie Berry, Karson Berry, Kaydan Berry, Dustin (Beth) Sergent, Megan (Eli) Geyer, Nicole Black, Natasha Najera, and Nathan Najera; great-grandchildren, Fallon Sergent and Bexley Sergent; sister, Kim Hockensmith; sister-in-law, Gail Daniels; niece, Lori Adams; and best friends, Daniel and Leona Smith.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet Whitmore; and step-son, Dan Berry.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the RC Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
