Hazel Jean (Maxey) Au

Hazel J. (Maxey) Au, 92, of Bucyrus, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Hazel was born on September 12, 1928, in Moorhead, Kentucky, to Herbert A. and Lila (Earley) Maxey. She attended Grace Evangelical Free Church when she was able, and she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and socializing. Hazel loved talking to people and loved her family.

She is survived by her children, Donna Ball of Matthew, North Carolina, twins, Cheryl Knecht of Tennessee and Carol Hedgecock of New York, and Darrell Au of Bucyrus; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

 Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Au; and brothers, Dan Maxey, Sam Maxey, and Lloyd Maxey.

A celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Windsor Cemetery.
