Hazel (Justice) Elliott, 94, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Hazel was born on August 3, 1926, in Carter County, Kentucky, to Mart and Anna (Wicker) Justice. She married the love of her life, Ovellon Curtis Elliott on October 28, 1944, and he preceded her in death. For ten years, she and her husband owned and operated Elliott’s Carryout, along with caring for her family. Hazel enjoyed working in her yard and flowers, watching westerns and taking care of her many grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Fay (Elliott) Brinegar of Mansfield; sons, Glen Curtis Elliott of Mansfield and Lowell Gene (Jewell) Elliott of Kentucky; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Ovellon, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; son, Arlin Junior Elliott; daughter, Linda Kay Johnston; daughter-in-law, Pat Elliott; son-in-law, Ora Brinegar; and seven siblings.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with her grandson, Lowell Elliott, officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
