Ila Marie (Wilson) Donough

Ila Marie (Wilson) Donough, 94, of Mansfield, OH went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2020.  She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Ila Marie was born in Hinckley, OH, on September 22, 1926.  She was one of twelve and a twin.  After graduating from HS and working in Medina, OH, she was introduced to her future husband by her twin, Kyle.  Kyle and Everett served in the military together and he knew they would be a match.  She was married in 1947 to Everett J. Donough and they raised seven children on a dairy farm.  After 23 years of marriage, she lost Everett to leukemia in 1970 and had 5 kids at home from 6 yrs. to 18 yrs., 1 in college, and 1 in the Air Force.  She taught her children to love Jesus, love each other, pray for wisdom and guidance in life, work hard, be helpful, serve others, and always do what was right and honorable.  This Godly legacy will always be cherished and passed on to future generations.

Ila Marie faithfully served in her church as a choir member and played the piano and organ.  She loved music and harmonizing and would ask her children to sing in harmony at all the holiday gatherings.  Her love for the Lord, His word and praying for her family and friends was very important to her.  Her last three years were spent living with her daughter, Cindy and son-in-law, Pat Moran, in Crittenden, KY.

Ila Marie is survived by her six children: Ken (Jean) of Gig Harbor, WA; Greg (Sharon) of Shelby, OH; Linda Ferguson of Adrian, MI; David (Debbie) of Sevierville, TN; Cindy Moran (Pat) of Crittenden, KY; and Laurie Switzer (Jim) of Independence, KY.  She is also survived by her 25 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Everett; daughter, Kathy (Donough) McKee; son-in-law, Larry Ferguson; and eleven siblings.

A celebration of Ila Marie’s life is planned for Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield, OH 44905.  Visitation begins at 9:00 am.
