Jack R. Wentz, age 83, died March 15, 2022, with his family by his side.  Born in Mansfield, his education included Mansfield public schools, The Ohio State University and Ashland College.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served on board the naval destroyers H. R. Dickson DD708 and F. B. Royal DD 872, primarily in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and Persian Gulf regions.

He is survived by wife Janet (Rachel) Wentz, sons Jonathan and Andrew of Columbus, OH, sisters-in-law Carol Hadala and Margie Hoam, and his life-long brother and friend Ron Dapper.  He was proceeded in death by parents John and Margret Wentz.

Jack's employment career was in the field of public works equipment manufacturing, sales and marketing.  Over four decades he held various domestic and international management and vice president positions with F. E. Meyers Company (Ashland, OH), Leach Corporation (Oshkosh, WI), Super Products Corporation (Milwaukee, WI) and Aquatech Corporation (Cleveland, OH). Thanks to his wonderful team of heart specialists at the Cleveland Clinic, he retired at age 62 with a great quality of life.

Through work in his chosen field and military service, Jack traveled to over 60 nations. Working and socializing with persons of numerous nationalities was one of his greatest pleasures. Jack and Janet enjoyed life to the fullest. Their favorite travel locations included Barbados, Key West, and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. Jack said, "60 years with your love and best friend, plus two wonderful, caring sons – everyone should be so blessed."

He was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council 4448 (Fourth Degree) and AmVets Post 26. Jack left this quote for his family, "Grieve not long for me. Know that I will always be near, until we are again together.  Live life to the fullest, be happy every day, for life is not a dress rehearsal."
