James Smith Obituary

James H. Smith, 72, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021.

James was born on March 31, 1948, in Ashland, to Raymond and Catherine (Shakley) Smith. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. James was a fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed bow hunting. He liked to spend time with his family and loved to tell stories just to get his family and friends to laugh.

He is survived by his uncle, Loyd E. (Doris) Smith and aunt, Jane Mosier, both of Mansfield; nieces, Brenda Smith and Linda Smith both of Mansfield, and Christina (Troy) Wilcox of Tiro; and nephew, Teddy (Jill) Rigsby of Mansfield.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Catherine Smith; sister, Judy Rigsby; and aunt, Helen Patton.

Private services will be observed by the family. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
