James Porterfield Obituary

James Porterfield, 54, of Ashland County, sadly passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 after fighting a brief illness.

James was born on June 3, 1967 in Ashland to Doris (Zahneiser) and James Edward Porterfield. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

James is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra (Morris) Porterfield; three children, Mandy Pearce of Ashland, Amy Wamack of Ashland, and Jason Wamack of North Carolina; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Brenda Hygoing of Mansfield, Joy McCarty of Louisiana, Loretta Brown of South Carolina, and Viola Porterfield of Ashland; two brothers, Rick (Karen) Porterfield of Ashland and Raymond (Brenda) Zahneiser of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Doris and Jim Porterfield of Ashland.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
