Jason T. Carpenter

Jason T. Carpenter, 43, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021.

Jason was born September 4, 1977, in Ashland, to Arthur M. Carpenter and Sedonia M. (Johnson) Carpenter Erickson.  He was employed at Fabrizi Trucking and Paving. Jason loved his family and friends and was a wonderful husband and father. He married Erica D. (Layton) Carpenter on July 11, 2015, and she survives. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, basketball, and dirt track racing.

Along with his wife, Erica, he is survived by his mother, Sedonia (Jim) Erickson of Jeromesville; children, Chase Carpenter, Camden Carpenter, and Addison Carpenter, all of Mansfield; step-children, Nicholas Drugan, Ethan Drugan, and Emma Drugan, all of Mansfield; and also helped to raise Madison Javens and Sonya Javens; siblings, John Carpenter of Mifflin and Kim (Steve) Stoner of Perrysville; step-mother, Sandy Carpenter; half-brothers, Kevin (Amber) Carpenter and Kyle (Nicole) Carpenter, both of Ashland, and Curtis (Darein) Carpenter of Mansfield; Erica’s parents, Jerry and Kathy Layton of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Ben (Heather) Layton of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Bridget (Mike) Meier of Michigan; sister-in-law, Kristen Stiteler;  Erica’s grandmother, Joan Echelberger; special uncle, Terry Weaver; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Carpenter.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Lantz Cemetery.
