Jeffrey “Al” A. Alexander, 75, of Mansfield passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his children.
Jeffrey was born January 9, 1949, in Mansfield to Earnest and Marjorie Alexander. He lived his life in Mansfield, Ohio, was a 1967 Graduate of Madison High School, and attended NCSC. In 1970, He married his high school sweetheart, Kay Chumbley. They raised three children together and later divorced but remained friends.
Al was an avid fisherman and took many trips to Canada, Lake Eire, Lake Chautauqua, NY, and most recent to Manistee, MI. He was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and an even bigger fan of THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND! He was also an avid golfer. When his children were younger, he took on the title of “Coach” He loved coaching baseball, then softball. Memories that will last a lifetime as he said.
He is survived by his children, Rod (Valeria) Alexander, Rita Simons, and Rachael (Josh) Hrivnak; grandchildren, Tierra (Jacob), Reece, Christian, Brady, and Natalie.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith; sister, Joyce; grandson, Devin Alexander; son-in-law, Don Simons; best friend, Mike Erhart; and fishing buddies, Sid and Mike.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. After the services there will be a gathering at Ashland Road VFW.
