Joann Kay (Coursen) Thompson,66, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Joann “Joey” as her family and friends called her, was born June 11, 1956, in Mansfield to Franklin Coursen and Velma (Lucas) Coursen. On June 18, 1981, she married her true love, Stephen Thompson. And together they raised a son, Cory. Joey loved her 2 dogs, Roxi and Lily, who were her world. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching horror movies, and trying her luck at blackjack.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Josephine Thompson of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Stevie Thompson of Florida and River Thompson of Mansfield; and her sister, Janet DeVault of Bellville; along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Joey was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Bob Coursen; her sister, Patty McQuillen; and her dear husband, Stephen.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
