John Michael Knight

John Knight, age 68 of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord Savior on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 17, 1956, in Mansfield to the late Sharon and Wanda (Salyers) Knight, and on October 31, 1984, he married the love of his life, Coletta (Sutherland). They spent 40 beautiful years together.

John was a graduate of Galion High School and a lifelong photographer. He enjoyed boating, riding his Harley, going to auctions, and playing Uno every Saturday night with his friends. He enjoyed watching racing and football, especially his home teams The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He will be remembered for the 20 years he played Santa Clause for Christmas in July and for the love he had for his family, especially his daughter and beloved grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Coletta Knight; his daughters Ashley Knight; his grandchildren Ashton, Addisan, Adrian, Azaiah, and Annika Knight; his siblings Debra Johnson and Randy (Connie) Knight; his parents-in-law Roger and Becky Sutherland; his brother-in-law Brent Sutherland; and numerous close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sharon and Wanda Knight.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
