Joy Mae Bennett, 92, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at her daughter’s home.
Joy was born January 14, 1932, in Cincinnati, OH to Bonnie and Charles Chitwood. She moved to Mansfield in 1948 and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High – Class of 1950. Joy worked her entire career and retired from the Social Security Administration. She enjoyed gardening and was a caretaker of cats and dogs.
Joy is survived by her children, Barbara (Dennis) Snelson of Mansfield, Kitty Kiley of Mansfield, Johnny (Theresa) Craft of Plano, TX, and Jeffrey (Patti) Craft of Rollette, TX; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bennett; two sons, Robert Steven Craft and Dana Lee Craft; sister, Ruby Chitwood, and three brothers, Charles Chitwood, Ovalyn Chitwood, and Billy Joe Chitwood.
Services are not planned at this time.
