Larry R. Shaffer

Larry R. Shaffer, 85, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Larry was born on May 6, 1939, in Clarington, Pennsylvania, to Carl and Gladys (Wolfe) Shaffer. He made a career out of serving his country in the U.S. Army for over 22 years.  He was also a guard at OSR/Manci for over 20 years. He married the love of his life, Pauline (Steward) Shaffer on July 29, 1982. Larry enjoyed watching the grandchildren and was very close to them. He also enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; granddaughters, Kim Lawhun and Amanda (Reuben) Jordan, both of Mansfield; great-grandsons, Gage (Ally), Rion (Bri), Aj, Isaiah, Jordan, and Louis; great-great-grandchildren, Nicole and Ryker; sister, Charlotte (Perry) McAfoose; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlene Boesch; and sisters, Martha (Jack) Dodd and Connie (Robert) Love.

Calling hours will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Burial will be at Windsor Cemetery.
