Lauren "Dolly" V (Jones) Newman

Lauren “Dolly” V. Newman (nee Jones) passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 57 years old, from natural causes at Avita Hospital in Bucyrus, OH. 

Lauren was born July 28, 1964, in Martins Ferry, OH to Gerald Jones and Linda Wright. She was a graduate of Cadiz High School in 1982, the U.S. Army basic training in Fort Jackson, SC, and the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Fort Gordon, GA. Lauren retired in July of 2019 from MTD in Shelby, OH where she had worked for 16 years in the Order Processing Department from July 2003 to July 2019. 

Lauren Newman wanted to be the life of the party wherever she went; she made sure to be fun and free around everyone. She loved to eat and loved to cook; she always said the bigger the better. She also loved her house, where she would love to sit outside with her husband as she admired her life in the country. 

Lauren was married to John Newman on June 11, 2016, they were married for 5 years. Lauren is the mother of Lakeesha Clark, Ivy Clark, Michael Hython, Malcolm Hython, Maurtice Hython, and Tiaunna Shaw. She is also the grandmother of Keshan Brown, Ivy Stillwell, Jasmine Stanford, Jayce Hython, Laquinn Hython, Shalynn Muze, Jayden Hython, Jordyn Hython, and Whinny Hython. She is the sister of Robin Jones, Richard Jones, Gerald Jones, and Monica Jones. However, she was a family and friend to many others as well.

A celebration of Lauren’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2021, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield.
