Linda Paulette Ohl-Crose passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. Linda was born on May 6, 1946, to Charles and Frances Davidson Stinehour in College Park, Maryland, but lived her entire life in Mansfield, Ohio. She cherished her winters in Florida.
Linda was quick-witted with a playfully mischievous sense of humor, a big smile, and a boisterous laugh. She loved her family, her friends, and her pets. She lived her life with a Diet Pepsi in hand and delighted in sharing her love of ice cream with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, and spending time in Florida, where she eagerly hosted guests. Her doors were never locked. Linda was a Thanksgiving enthusiast, famous amongst family and friends for a full-spread dinner including her signature strawberry and key lime pies.
Linda is survived by her children Julie Hyatt, Robert (Sonya) Ohl, Rodney (Jessica) Ohl, and Charles “Ryan” (Karri) Ohl; children-by-marriage Randy Crose, Sheila Lambert , Carlo (Amy) Tafur, Cody (Stacie) Crose, Casey (Kristen) Crose, Chris (Stephanie) Crose; siblings Joyce Amos, Charles “Skip” Stinehour, and John (Lou) Stinehour; a very large extended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and close, life-long friends whom she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Crose, in 2015; her parents; her brothers, Jack Stinehour and James “Jim” Stinehour; and her great-granddaughter, Sadie Turnbaugh.
The family welcomes friends to celebrate Linda’s life with calling hours and a graveside service. Calling hours will be from 10:00 am to noon on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield.
