Louie Martin Perry, 82, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Born on August 18, 1938 in Lewis County, Kentucky, he was met at Heaven’s Gate by his loving wife of 58 years, Brenda G. Perry. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2017. Lou was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sena (Nolan) Perry; three brothers; and three sisters.
One brother, Monty Perry and one sister, Anita Cooper, survive. Lou leaves behind one daughter, Ramona G. Perry; two granddaughters, Camellia (Burley) Stapley of Findlay and Tenille Hamm of Mansfield; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Owen Stapley of Findlay and Adriana and Mariah Hamm of Mansfield. Lou was blessed to reach five generations with the birth of Navy Brenn Stapley last February, his only great-great-grandchild. He was so proud.
Lou served four years in the United States Army from 1958 to1962. He worked at General Motors, Mansfield until he retired. He opened his car lot and ran it successfully for the last 50 years. Lou loved cars and enjoyed going to car auctions, sitting around the car lot talking with his buddies and drinking coffee. Lou was a kind and caring man. He never refused anyone who needed a helping hand. He enjoyed going on weekend trips to Kentucky to see family while he was able. The most important thing to Lou was his family. Sundays were family days when all of the kids came together to visit, which he greatly forward to. Lou will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. He touched so many people’s lives and he will never be forgotten!
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springmill Cemetery.
