Marguerite Marie (Booth) West

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Marguerite West, our loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched, on October 16, 2022.

She left us while peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was 43 years young.

Marguerite was born in Mansfield, Ohio on March 25, 1979 to Vesta McDaniel and Mike Booth.  She leaves behind her husband Joe West of 21 years; and her four kids, Austin (Hunt), Alex (Hunt), Josh (West), and Abbigale (Hunt);  and her special kids she cared for as her own, Carolyn (Abraham) Perez, Sydney (Dustin) Moore, and Dylon Amick.  Marguerite was a proud grandma to Wrenlee Rose Hunt, Kinsley Moore, Harper Moore, Jurnee Moore, Remingtynn Moore, and Layklin Moore but there are so many more she called her grandkids.  She had her best friend and mother-in-law, Louise Bond (My Old Lady) and father-in-law, Ralph Bond. Father, Mike (Tammy) Booth; step-dad, Jim (Robin) McDaniel; sisters, Elizabeth Booth, Stephanie Booth, Ashley (John) Roberts, Jeni McDaniel, Melissa McDaniel, Tiffany Robinson, and Amber Coontz; brother, Jason Mullins; grandmother, Gisela Shoemaker; special nephew, Gunner Roberts and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vesta McDaniel; nephew, Anthony Rush; and grandparents, Jerry Shoemaker, David Booth, and Margaret Basting.

Marguerite was not one to stay at home. She loved an adventure and never had a plan just went with the flow.  She enjoyed camping, cruises, casinos, cooking, and traveling. She had gone on 14 cruises with four being in one year!  We asked her if she could go on one more cruise, where she would go, and she said, “ Umm, I would go to Aruba”. Marguerite had traveled to Arizona many times. We can’t forget the many trips to Las Vegas! She spent a lot of her time cooking big meals for everyone, camping, boating, and riding a jet ski.   Her favorite times were when she was with her kids and close friends.  We all have so many great memories!

The family would like a special thank you to hospice and care time, Louise (Old Lady), Ashley Roberts, Carolyn Perez, Abbi Hunt, and her husband Joe West whom she loved “ with my whole heart.”

Calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the funeral home with Eric Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Cemetery.
