Marvin R. Thompson, 88, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Marvin was born on October 15, 1932, in Mansfield, to Joseph H. and Josephine M. (Fike) Thompson.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired after 20+ years from Barnes Pump.  Marvin enjoyed his boats, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his children, Dave Thompson and Sharon Harlow; grandchildren; five siblings, Carol (Dick) Shrader, Richard “Dick” Thompson, Ronny Thompson, Dave Thompson, and Doug Thompson; and several nieces and nephews, including his caretaker, Clint (Debra) Stiltner.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Eugene “Gene” Thompson, Joe Thompson Jr, Donny Thompson, Pearl Thompson, and Geraldine Stiltner.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Mansfield Cemetery with full military honors.
