Melvin D. Keffer, 81, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, as a result of complications from covid.
Melvin was born on February 16, 1940 in Richwood, WV to Vernon and Carrie (Sloan) Keffer. He was a roofer for over 60 years Melvin was a great man, a great friend to many, and had many kind neighbors who looked after him. He loved to visit with his neighbors as well. Melvin loved his family and his extended family. He will miss his West Virginia family as much as his Ohio family. He was an avid Browns and Indians fan, and enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, hunting, gardening, and canning.
He is survived by his children, Audrey (Michael) Mount, Robert Keffer, Jim (Vanessa) Swanger, and Tammy Cox; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Norris Keffer, Arden Keffer; sisters, Lou (Joe) Harris and Sue Frailey; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and ex-nieces and ex-nephews.
Along with his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Keffer; and two sons, Melvin Keffer, Jr. and Doug Swanger.
Melvin will be laid to rest beside his wife, Nancy, at a later date, in Mansfield Cemetery.
