Michael Greathouse Obituary

Michael L. Greathouse, age 75 of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1950, in Athens to the late Elmer Greathouse and Mary (Bullock) Cowell, and on March 11, 1978, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Detrow).

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army, and he worked as a route driver for Culligan for 43 years. He loved old cars, especially Firebirds, and he spent a lot of time working on various automobiles. He enjoyed his daily trips to the coffee shop and listening to oldies music. His family fondly remembers him as a jokester, even if most of his jokes were inappropriate. He was a hard worker and an amazing father, husband, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Greathouse; his children Tammy Greathouse, Michael (Jennifer) Greathouse, and Karin Greathouse; his siblings Kathy (Rich) Foster, Paula (Larry) Ramey, and Mark Morr; his grandchildren Amber Greathouse, Alicia Greathouse, and Kayden Greathouse; his great-grandchildren Jacob, Jedediah, Ja’Mierion, Jewels, Liam, and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer Greathouse and Mary Cowell and his sister Vikki Domokos.

Family and friends may gather to honor Mike’s memory on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield.
