Patricia G. Hill, age 70 of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was born on August 19, 1955, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Eldridge and Eunice Ethel (Reynolds) Hill.
Patty retired from the dietary department of OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, and she attended Belmont Community Church.
Although Patty didn’t have a husband or children of her own, she would have been a great wife and mother. She treated her nieces and nephews like they were her children. We were all lucky to have received her love and friendship.
Circa 1980, during the video game craze, Patty would take her nieces and nephews to play video games until they ran out of quarters. Patty always seemed to have more quarters that kept the night lasting longer.
Patty loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Cavaliers, especially LeBron James. She was so happy when the Buckeyes won the national championship as well as when LeBron led the Cavs to an NBA Championship. Unfortunately, she did not get to see a Super Bowl win by the Browns, but all of us living might not, either.
Patty will be remembered for love and joy. She loved her family and she loved her God. Jesus holds her now. She shared so much joy with family and friends and will be remembered smiling as she played board games, bowled, rode the coasters at Cedar Point and Opryland, rode bicycles, took her nieces and nephews to the movies, threw baseball with Curry Callahan, laughed at family movies, and celebrated Hill family holiday gatherings. She was loved deeply, and she lives in our hearts.
She is survived by her siblings Carol (Ben) Jones, Judy Runion, and Jim Hill and family; her nephews Doug (Sampda) Jones, Chris (Lisa) Jones, Tim Runion, and Kevin Runion; her niece Anne Marie Jones; her great-nieces and -nephews Maddie Jones, Zach Jones, Alex Jones, Alyssa Jones, Dylan (Kara) Runion, Clay Runion, and Courtney (Cody) Runion; her great-great-nieces and -nephew Kyla Runion, Raya Carpenter, and Baby Boy Runion, arriving soon; her aunts Donna Marie and Georgia; her uncle Gerald “Geri”; and many cousins and friends. The family would like to acknowledge exceptional caring friends and neighbors who were there for Mom and Pat for the last 31 years after Dad passed away. Thank you, Cliff and Jenny.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eldridge and Eunice Hill.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
