Paul Blanton Obituary

Paul Edward Blanton, 83, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Paul was born on December 26, 1936, in Lucasville, OH to Cecil H. and Harriett B. (Wiley) Blanton. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during peacetime. Paul loved his family and the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, shooting pool, and dancing. He was a certified welder by trade, and a welding instructor at Madison Comprehensive High School for 17 years.

He is survived by the love of his life, Marlene (Cochran) Blanton; children, Sandra Jo (Blanton) Crego, Paul Edward Blanton II, and Steven Scott Blanton (James Shipman), all of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Crego, Jacob (Angela) Crego, Terrance Blanton, and Cherie Blanton; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Crego, Paul Crego, and Mason Crego; four sisters; and one brother.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and three brothers.

Private graveside services will be at Mansfield Cemetery.

Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
