Phillip A. Johnson, age 62 of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on May 30, 1963, in Perry County to the late George and Francis (Pargeon) Johnson, and on November 4, 2006, he married his wife Tonya (Heinberger).
Phil was an avid Ohio State fan, and he was very into racing. He also enjoyed golfing. He prided himself on being a very accomplished mechanic who could fix anything. Above all, he was a loving husband, an amazing father, and a wonderful grandfather. He was so loved, and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Tonya Johnson; his children Ryan Johnson, Chris Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, and Jamie Schnidt; his grandchildren Akira Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Corbin Johnson, Victoria Johnson, and Lucas McKeehen; his siblings Mark, Louis, Frank, Jim, Gloria, Barb, Linda, Tom, and Janet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Francis Johnson and his siblings Robert, David, Mary, and Bill.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
