Rebecca L. “Becky” Baumberger, of Mansfield, OH (formerly of Warsaw, OH), born on January 11, 1963, was called home by her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2021. She passed peacefully in her husband’s arms surrounded by her loving family, from a short illness.
She was employed at Jay Industries Broshco Division for the past 15 years. Becky loved her family and friends, hosting many family holiday gatherings and was in all her glory, especially at Thanksgiving. She enjoyed watching (and cussing) the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. You could also find her working in her flower beds, mowing grass, hunting mushrooms or fishing on Lake Erie. She loved going on cruises, shopping in Amish country with her girlfriends, collecting lighthouses, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, Five Crowns AND going out to eat with her friends and family members whenever she could.
She is survived by her loving husband, David J. Baumberger, whom she married on January 22, 1983, and they have happily been in love together the past 38 years; daughter, April L. Baumberger of Mansfield; brother, Martin Jones and Jill King of Crestline; sister and brother-in-law, Trudi (Jones) and Kevin Kitzmiller of Shelby; sister, Joy Logue of Shelby; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Jones) and Matthew Giampietro of Mansfield, Justin Jones of Canada, and Brandon Martinez of Shelby; mother-in-law, Virginia E. (Henry) (Dale) Baumberger of Mansfield; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ann (Baumberger) and Bruce Bell of South Carolina; grandnieces and grandnephews, Parker and Jaxon Giampietro, Madalyn and Lee Jones; and special friend Dawn Brewer of Mansfield.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Trubie L. and Virginia A. (Casper) Jones; both paternal and maternal grandparents; and her 28 year old son, Jason S. Baumberger.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at the funeral home, with Reverend Johnnie Swann officiating. Burial will follow at Pavonia Cemetery.
In her honor, the family requests that visitors wear “festive blue” during calling hours which was her favorite color.
