Obituary
Richard Wayne Phipps, 91, of Lucas, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Richard was born December 12, 1931, in Mansfield to Russell and Thelma (Richey) Phipps. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from teaching at the Reformatory and MANCI. He loved his family and loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Nancy) Phipps, David Phipps, and Kimberley Phipps; brother, Don Phipps; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenda Phipps; and brother, Raymon Phipps.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with full military honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Burial was in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
