Richard "Richey" C. Au, Jr.

Richard C. “Richey” Au, Jr., age 66 of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1958, in Mansfield to the late Richard and Maxine (Reece) Au, and on July 31, 1982, he married the love of his life, Deanna (Haynes).

Richey worked for the City of Mansfield for 33 years until his retirement in 2008. He is lovingly remembered as a family man and a bit of character, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They traveled all over on family vacations together, and during his downtime, he watched “The Price Is Right” every day.

He is survived by his wife Deanna Au; his daughter Tara (Jason) Shears; and his grandchildren Kalinn Au and Carter Shears.

He was preceded in death by his son Joshua “Stubby” Au and his parents Richard and Maxine Au.

Family and friends may gather to honor Richey’s memory on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. A memorial service will take place at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
