Rickey Lee Lawson, 50, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday May 29, 2025.
Rickey was born November 3, 1974, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Marvin Eugene and Meriena Sue (Cooley) Lawson. He worked for Spectrum as a supervisor for 25 years, was an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, and enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Wapusun, watching Ohio State Football and the Indianapolis Colts and participated in a dart league.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Lawson; three children: Rodney (Madison) Ochoa, Jr. of Mansfield, Aurora Lawson of Mansfield and Mya Lawson of Oberlin, OH; three grandchildren, twins Jayce and Avery Ochoa, and Damien; brothers and sisters: Tara Smith of OK, Danielle (David) King of Marion, Heidi Lawson of Shelby, Megan Barnason of FL, David (Julia) Lawson of Crestline and Donnie Brown of Wooster; and lifelong friend, Ryan Keene.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and a sister, Scotty Brown, Andrea Smith, and Terrance Lawson.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Dwight Hedglin officiating.
