Ronald E. McGuire, age 68 of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1957, in Kentucky to the late George and Connie Marie (Rice) Goad.
Ron worked as a case worker for 12 years, and he spent time working in security for many years both before and after his time in social work. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Buckeyes and Browns, and he also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling. He loved sitting on his porch, sipping iced tea – never coffee! – but above all else, he is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children Cynthia McGuire, Penny (Nathan) Sunderland, Joseph McGuire, Christina (Andrew) Fultz, and Robert (Amber) McGuire, as well as the grandchildren he raised as his own, Dylan Williams and Colton (Kaylee) Williams; his siblings Melissa Bristow, Thomas Goad, and Mike Goad; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Connie Goad; his daughter Virginia Sue Williams; his grandson Jayden Williams; his siblings Tina “Deenee” Rush, Donna “Faye” Wilson, James McGuire, George “Tony” Goad, Tammy Osborne, and Peggy Collins; and his former wife and best friend Linda Eubanks.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Freedom Church Mansfield, 670 Kentucky Ave., Mansfield. Services will take place at 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
