Rose Marie Clay, 94, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Rose was born January 13, 1931, in Rome, Richland Co., Ohio and was the daughter of John and Gladys (Crouse) Perkins. On January 31, 1948, she married Charles William Clay, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1995. Throughout her lifetime, Rose worked many retail jobs including Neisner’s Five & Dime and Gray Drugstore, and also worked for a short time at Therm-O-Disc. She attended Mansfield Baptist Temple. Rose loved her family; they loved her and will greatly miss her.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles William (Charlene) Clay, Jr. and Norman Dean Clay all of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Charles (Anita) Clay, III, Melissa Ann Clay, Johnny (Chrissy) Clay, and Brandi (Mike) Montgomery; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Ryleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Lynn Clay in 2011.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in Rome Revolutionary War Cemetery, Rome, OH.
