Ruth Virginia Maul

Ruth Virginia Maul, 90, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020.

Ruth was born at home on August 29, 1930 in Attica, OH, the daughter of Gravino and Norpha (Stout) Cesare.  She graduated from Wauseon High School in 1948 and from Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1951.  Ruth was a retired nurse of Shelby Memorial Hospital, an avid reader and past Girl Scout Troop Leader.  She loved roses, nature, and cats; and her favorite place to visit was Kingwood Center.  As the mother of five children, she wanted to ensure that her children had well-rounded experiences that she was not able to enjoy as a child.

Ruth is survived by her children, Karl “Bud” (Bonnie) Maul, of New Washington, Julia (Scott) Smith of Grove City, Gary (Sharon) Maul of Pasadena, MD, Jane (Rudy) Bouhuys of Bolingbrook, IL, and Susan Maul of Mansfield; her grandchildren, Phillip (Shelbi) Maul and Karla Maul both of New Washington, Sheridan Smith and Jackson Smith both of Grove City, Bryan (Taylor) Maul of Glen Burnie, MD, Eric Maul of Provincetown, MA, Dorian Bouhuys of La Cresenta, CA, Matthew Bouhuys of Fort Rucker, AL, and Sarah Bouhuys of Bolingbrook, IL; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Norpha and  Dick Williams; her father, Gravino Cesare, who immigrated from Italy; and two brothers, Henry Cesare and Hollie Cesare.
