Samantha “Sam” Marie Marsh

Samantha “Sam” Marie Marsh, 42, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Sam was born on February 16, 1981, in Mansfield, to Jose Jr. and Robin (Marsh) Vasquez.  She was the best daughter, mother, wife, meemaw, aunt and friend to anyone that ever crossed her path.  Anyone who ever met Sam instantly loved her.  She was so loving and caring and would help anybody she could.  Her day would always start in the afternoon.  She would get up, get her a cup of cream and sugar with a splash of coffee, take care of her dogs, and blast her “hot jams”.  Wherever she sat down, we just hoped that she didn’t break the springs out of any chair she was rocking in.  Doesn’t matter where she was going, she was comfy in her PJ’s.  Sam didn’t care what anyone thought.  With her, what you see is what you get.  She was a genuine and caring soul that was too precious to stay on earth with us.  She will forever be missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Cundiff; parents, Robin and Jose Vasquez; children, Devin Jack Cundiff, Adam Joe Cundiff, and Rebeka Blu Cundiff; one granddaughter, Kalia Sue Cundiff; brothers, Jose Marsh and Alan Vasquez; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Naomi and Clifton Crum; nieces and nephews, Heidi, Emily, George, Alex, Ahmyah, Dacey, and Avery Marsh, Makayla and Alan Vasquez; and any other child that ever called her “Nan”.

Sam was preceded in death by her daughter, Brianna Marie Cundiff; grandparents, Shelby Vasquez, Jose Vasquez Sr, Ester Cyrus, and Donald Junior Marsh; father-in-law, Jack Cundiff Jr; and niece, Alyssa Marie Vasquez.

A celebration of Samantha’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Richland County Fairgrounds, John Hartz Bldg., 1500 Home Road, Mansfield.
