Samuel Stockon Obituary

Samuel M. Stockon, 85, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Samuel was born August 8, 1936, in Canton, Ohio, to Leander D. and Margaret E. (Wilkin) Stockon. Samuel proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during peace time. He also played football for the Marine Corps during his service. He enjoyed watching Ashland girls basketball and previously watched Indiana State girls basketball, as well as watching his grandchildren participate in sports. Samuel also enjoyed sprint car racing.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Weaver) Stockon; children, Rita (George) Prosser of Mansfield, Samuel (Barbara) Stockon IV of Texas, Daniel (Tammy) Stockon of Illinois, and Stephanie (Leon Bear) Strole of Florida; ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Margaret Stockon; and brother, Lee Stockon.

The family will hold private services at a later date.
