Sandy "Dusty" Roose Obituary

Sandy “Dusty” Roose, 69, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022.

Sandy was born April 15, 1953, in San Fernando, California, the daughter of Marlen and Maggie Roose. Sandy graduated from Crestview High School. Sandy worked in the Nassco shipyard in San Diego, CA for 12 years and later as a dietary aid for over 20 years at Oak Grove Manor. Sandy had a friendly spirit and loved to help people. Sandy loved her family as well as her church family, Diamond Hill Cathedral, where she worked in the kitchen as she enjoyed cooking and helped clean the church for many years.

Sandy is survived by her son, Jonathan (Angie Hale) Roose; granddaughters, Shannon Roose and Heidi (Nate) Sherer; grandson, Jacob Williston; great-grandsons, Ethan Beauvais, Jonathan and Matthew Sherer; great-granddaughter, Lilly Sherer; sisters, Robyn (Terry) McCormick and Hope (Mark) Rohr; brothers, Mace (Nikki) Roose, Rocky (Linda) Roose, Mickey Roose, and Montana Roose; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at Diamond Hill Cathedral, 500 Tingley Avenue, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Mel Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Olivesburg.

Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank Avita Hospice and Arbors of Mifflin for their wonderful care of Sandy.
