Shirley Smith, age 69 of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on June 3, 1955, in Mansfield to the late Kenneth and Shelby Dace (Webb) Smith. Shirley most recently worked at Walmart as an overnight supervisor for 8 years but had worked at Kmart for several years before that and also spent much of her life as a home health aide. She was known for her love of crafting, excelling at everything from crocheting to sewing and beyond, and her love of reading anything and everything she could get her hands on. She had a green thumb and a knack for nursing any ailing plant back to health. Above all else, she was the best grandma, and her presence will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Natalie Cundiff, Mamie Smith, and April Smith; her siblings, Alan (Karen) Smith, Joseph Smith, Jose (Robin) Vasquez, and Louise McFerren; her grandchildren, Ashley Spears, Amber Spears, Jeremy Baker, Matthew Baker, Shelby Baker, and Paige Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Bishop and Paisley Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Shelby Smith; her son-in-law, Jeremy Baker; her sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; and her brother-in-law, Kevin McFerren.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 5:00 pm at the Richland County Fairgrounds Arts and Crafts Building, 750 N. Home Road, Mansfield.
