Shirley C. (Weddington) Wiseman, 81, went to be with her Jesus, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was a light for Jesus to the world and a faithful child of God.
Shirley was born on August 1, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to Bill T. and Bobbie B. (Hatfield) Weddington. She attended beauty school and Mansfield Business College. On March 21, 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert “Rick” Wiseman, and he survives. For many years, Shirley and Rick had their own hair salon. She was also a pastor’s wife, helping Rick in the ministry for 51 years, which included traveling all 50 states and Brazil. She supported her husband in their church, Promise Land Fellowship. Shirley and Rick fostered 83 children, and in 1982, received the State of Ohio Foster Parents of the Year award. Debra was a foreign exchange student they welcomed into their home, and they were able to visit with her family in Brazil. Shirley dearly loved her grandchildren, and they called her the Sugar Plum Princess, as she provided much love, as well as candy and chocolate for them. She loved thrifting at stores and was known to get some good deals. She loved “bling”, especially diamonds and shoes.
Along with her husband Rick, she is survived by her children, Tammy (Jeff) Shaull of Mansfield, and Ross (Amie) Wiseman of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren, Brian (Leah) Shaull, Austin (Andrea) Shaull, Rhema (Adam) Hershberger, Ricki Lynn Shaull, Adalee (Zach) VanDine, Aubrynn Wiseman, Grant Wiseman, Maverick Wiseman, and Arden Rose Wiseman; great-grandchildren, Preston Shaull, Maxwell Shaull, Charlotte Rose Shaull, Sophia Shaull, and Shepard VanDine; and numerous foster children.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
