Stanley C. Hawthorne

Stanley C. Hawthorne, 53, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, following a brief illness. Stanley was born on April 8, 1961, in Mansfield, to Willie Hawthorne Sr. and Evelyn (Johnson) Butler. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Stanley was a body builder, and enjoyed running. He also liked to watch football and basketball, and play chess, cards, dominoes and Scrabble. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hawthorne; three children, Craig D. (Michelle) Sutton and Jermaine M. Hawthorne both of Mansfield, and Alyse T. Dorsey of Columbus; four step-children, LaKwana Williams, Alfred Reese Jr. and Donald Reese all of Mansfield, and Cutey Reese of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren; a host of step-grandchildren; three siblings, Benjamin Tyler, Donald Tyler, and Angela Mosier, all of Mansfield; and a host of nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Willie Hawthorne Jr. and Larry Tyler. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Ave East, Mansfield with Reverend Bond officiating.
