Toby Lane Putman, age 46 of Lucas, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his home following a prolonged illness.
Toby was born on June 15, 1978, and became an avid outdoorsman from a very young age. A lifelong Lucas resident, he enjoyed all the beauty and game the rural Lucas area had to offer. Whether hunting game, big and small, for sport or helping the local farmers with pest control, Toby was a skilled hunter. One passion was coon hunting, and he was also an avid fisherman. His love of hunting, fishing, and firearms was equaled by a great enjoyment of sharing his vast knowledge and teaching others.
Toby was proud of his 15-year career with the Village of Lucas and his achievement of becoming a street superintendent. For him, this was less of a career and more of an act of service to his beloved community.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Renee Putman; his mother Sharon Kay Putman; his mother-in-law Linda Bartram; his brothers Tom (Cristi) Putman of Ashland and Tim (Kay) Putman of Lucas; his nieces and nephews; his best friend Ryan Stamper; and Miss Kitty, his cat who brought him great joy and comfort.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Putman and his father-in-law Dale Bartram.
