Trudy Bellomy Obituary

Trudy Arnette Bellomy passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2024, at Ohio Health in Mansfield, Ohio.  It was on that beautiful morning that Trudy was embraced by Our Lord and Savior as she heard Heaven’s Angels singing.

Born on June 19, 1958, in Mansfield, Ohio, Trudy was the cherished daughter of Dorothy Ellen (Stevens) (Bellomy) Swindall and Marvin Edgel Bellomy.  Tragically, Marvin passed away when Trudy was just a young child.  Dorothy later remarried, bringing Abraham Swindall into Trudy’s life as her loving stepfather.

Trudy’s early life was marked by resilience.  Born prematurely and unable to hear, she persevered through life’s challenges with incredible strength and determination rooted in her strong faith in God.  Her journey led her to the Ohio School for the Deaf in Columbus, where she thrived academically and socially.  It was here that Trudy not only received her education but also developed many lifelong friendships, becoming a beloved member of the deaf community.

Trudy’s life was a testament to the power of perseverance and the strength of the human spirit.  Despite the obstacles she faced, she conquered her struggles and built a life filled with love, friendship, and accomplishment.  Her large circle of friends and the bonds she formed within the deaf community are a testament to her warm and generous nature.

Trudy is survived by her mother, Dorothy Swindall of Loudonville; daughters, Julie Swindall and Melissa Bellomy, both of Mansfield and Elizabeth (Aaron) Fischer of South Amherst, Ohio; and son, Matthew Bellomy of Canton. She also leaves behind six grandsons, Xavier, Devante, Darrius, Camron, Bryan, and David; three granddaughters, Aaliyah, Leanna, and Adalynn; her brothers, Marvin (Toni) Swindall of Perrysville, Jerry (Penny) Swindall of Edgewater, Florida, and Abel (Duana) Swindall of Smithville, Missouri; her sister-in-law, Paula Swindall; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Bellomy; stepfather, Abraham Swindall; brother, Stephen Bruce Swindall; and nephew, Jeremiah Swindall.
