Velva Oklin (Gravley) Parnell, 88, of Mansfield, OH passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family.

Velva was born March 1, 1932 in Barren Springs, VA to Floyd and Martha (Viars) Gravley. Velva was a long term resident of Mansfield, OH. She was devoted to her family and spent her life caring for those around her. Velva enjoyed watching westerns, “Gunsmoke” being her favorite and coloring in her free time. Velva always opened her home and heart to anybody who was in need.

Velva is survived by her children, Cathy Baker, Betty (Andre) Carr, Judy Jones, Jamie (Cheryl) Parnell, Jeannie Parnell, Matthew Parnell, Jeannette Parnell, and Wanda Rodriguez; grandchildren, Christa Harris and Daniel Parnell, whom she raised, Desirae Vollmer, William Vollmer, Amanda Jaeckin, Kevin Gieseman, Jamie Parnell, Benjamin Parnell, Dorothea Richey, Jason Cole, Onnettea Parnell, Christian Parnell, Elijah Parnell, Jeanna Groshong, Luka Rodriguez, Milan Rodriguez, Delvelo Rodriguez and Juan Rodriguez; 39 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Linda (Carl) Duncan Tucker.

Velva was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; her husband, William Parnell; two sons, Leonard Coy Parnell and William Terry Parnell; two sons-in-law, Harold Jones and Julio Rodriquez; and two grandsons, Carl Parnell and Christopher Cole.
