Vincent Bennett Obituary

Vincent O. Bennett, 72, of Mansfield, OH, was called home on Friday, January 31, 2020.

Vince was born in Webster Springs, WV on May 10, 1947 to Clell and Thelma (Hamrick) Bennett.  The family later moved to Burton, OH where Vince spent his childhood years.  Later in life, Vince moved to Mansfield, OH to take a job with Nelson’s Tree Service.  After many years of working as a tree trimmer, Vince took a job as a patrolman for Vector Security, from which he retired in 2014.

While working as a patrolman, Vince made many lasting friendships.

Vince was a lighthearted man, great story teller, and practical jokester.  Vince enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.  In the warmer months, Vince spent his time camping at Lake Maria, where he loved hosting family BBQ’s.  Vince spent many hours fishing on the lake with his children and grandchildren.  He was also known to spend hours giving golf cart rides to his grandchildren.  Of all the things Vince enjoyed doing, spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite.  Although Vince loved all of his grandchildren, he shared a special bond with his oldest grandson, Brandon Polak, who preceded him in death.  The family takes great comfort in knowing the two are reunited.

Also preceding Vince in death are his parents, Clell and Thelma Bennett; his brother, Perry Bennett; and an infant daughter, Vickie Bennett.

Those left to cherish his memory include:  his three sons, Vincent Brian (MJ) Bennett, Michael Bennett, and Kevin (Betty) Bennett; one daughter, Melissa “Missy “ Polak; grandsons, Christopher and Tyler Polak, Bryce Anable, and Peyton and Jaxson Bennett; great-grandsons, Brandon, Preston, and Maxwell Polak.

In honor of Vince’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

The family wishes to thank all of those who have reached out with condolences and support.
