Virginia E. (Arnold) Erwin, 86, of Mansfield, passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Ashland on Tuesday, October 22, 2014, which was the same day that her mother passed away in 1961. Virginia was born on October 8, 1928 in West Virginia to Dewey and Grace (Caltrider) Arnold. She had worked at Dominion and was an office manager for Dr. Rinehart for many years. Virginia, also known as "Mom, Gram, G.G., Fanny, Cidy, and Ginny", was a private person who quietly and eagerly met everyone's needs including making everyone's favorite dishes, sewing, crocheting, and hosting memorable Christmas Eve traditions. She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Dr. Harold) Rinehart of Perrysville; three granddaughters, Tiki Peterson, Heather (Dr. Jeff) Zaika, and Hillary (Todd) Stach; seven great-grandchildren, Jackie, Gabby and Jillian Zaika, Emily Peterson, and Bailey, Summer, and Skylan Stach; one sister, Wilma Ramsey; one brother, Herbert Arnold; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Arnold, Thelma Erwin, and Jean Click; one brother-in-law, Carl Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews, who she adored. Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie A. Erwin; and three brothers, Harold Arnold, Edwin Arnold, and Willis Arnold. Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield.
