Virginia M. (Mitchell) McCammon

Virginia M. (Mitchell) McCammon, 94, of Lucas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6, 2019.Virginia was born on December 18, 1924, in Shelby, to George I. and Elsie (Young) Mitchell. She was a 1943 graduate of Lucas Schools. After graduation, she worked at Ohio Brass for a couple of years until she married James McCammon in 1946, and became a full time wife and mother. She and James had a wonderful marriage, until his passing in 1994. They accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior in the early 1970's, and were members of First Alliance Church where Virginia served in the church library. In 1988, James and Virginia, along with other couples, their good friends, and Rev. Dennis and Dee Nezrick, started Grace Evangelical Free Church. She is survived by sons, Daniel and Bruce; brother, Robert (Joiene) Mitchell; sister, Eloise Simmermacher; many wonderful nieces and nephews who showed Virginia much love and respect; and her friend, Helen Bright.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; brothers, James, Jack, Earl, and Ted Mitchell; sister, Helen Marsh; mother-in-law, Ruth McCammon; special niece, Pat Finley; and neighbor and friend, Gladys Miller.At Virginia's request, there will be only graveside services, which will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Mansfield Memorial Park, with her friend, Rev.
