Virginia "Gerry" G. (Sawyers) Geddes

Virginia “Gerry” G. Geddes, 91, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Virginia was born July 6, 1930 in Gilmer County, WV to Dwight and Cora Edna (Marks) Sawyers.  She married William Geddes on July 26, 1952.  Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed painting with oils, doing crafts, gardening, and playing horse shoes.

She is survived by daughter, Judith Williams of Lucas; son, Michael Geddes of Waterford, MI; son, David Geddes of Mansfield; daughter, Diane Dininger of Loudonville; son-in-law, Scott Dininger of Loudonville; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Geddes; father, Dwight Sawyers; mother, Cora Edna (Marks) Sawyers; sister, Luella Maxine Quickle; brother, Dwight “Bud” Junior Sawyers; and grandson, Gordon “Boo” Geddes.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44904.  Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
